I was a virgin when I got married. Lakita Garth, the former Miss Black California and the author of the book – The Naked Truth says

This is how the present generation thinks…

  • To be called a virgin is an insult to many teenagers!!!
  • Safe sex is the best sex!!!
  • People should have sex with as many people as they can before marriage!!!!
  • Everybody is doing it so let me also do it!!

Here is the truth

Lakita Garth, the former Miss Black California and the author of the book – The Naked Truth, says that everybody is not doing that and majority of the students graduating from college are virgins. Lakita, a gorgeous lady, not only teaches abstinence (staying away from pre-marital sex) but also actually practiced it – she boldly states “I was virgin when I got married.”

Its a lie! Everybody is not doing it! A good number of Teenagers are not engaging in premarital sex

You may kill each of us for preaching. But you can't kill Jesus who lives in us.

Clothing in Church: Why It Matters

Laura Ortberg Turner, guest blogger

My little brother is one of my favorite people. He is patient and gentle and considerate and funny. (Although I would never tell him that.) He is in his last year at Westmont College, my alma mater, and for the past few years has been putting his music composition major to use by playing in the band at a local church on Sunday mornings. He enters into worship with a grateful heart and works hard to cultivate a space where other people can do the same.

And he does all this without wearing shoes.

He just doesn’t care. He’s always been an incredibly casual dresser, wearing shorts and flip-flops all through the freezing months of winter in the Midwest. So showing up to church barefoot and in a T-shirt is not only normal for him, but to dress in anything nicer would, to him, be a violation of conscience in the eyes of the God who bids us come as we are.

Last month, Duane Litfin, former president of Wheaton College, wrote an interesting op-ed for Christianity Today called “Clothing Matters: What We Wear to Church.” In it, Litfin makes the case for a thoughtful approach to dressing for public worship services. Framing his argument in terms of offering God our best, our first fruits, that which is sacrificial, Litfin suggests that we display an attitude of awe and reverence when we enter into communal worship. He cites Scriptures like 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 and Romans 12:1, where we hear about our bodies being living sacrifices to God. The most convincing part of all of this, though, comes when Litfin says “I do wish to raise a question about the notion…that when it comes to public worship, our clothing doesn't matter.”

"I now declare that if they kill me because of it, then I will appear before Jesus Christ and be with him for all eternity.” What a daring statement!!

In an audio file posted on a Christian satellite TV channel, prince Abdullah al-Sabah declared his faith in Jesus Christ. Muslims have attacked him saying “he isn’t a member of the royal family”.
According to reports, a Kuwaiti royal prince has become a follower of Jesus Christ. In an audio file posted with his name, he affirms that if he is killed because of a recording he made where he talks about his conversion, he firmly believes that he will meet Jesus Christ face-to-face. The news comes from Middle Eastern sources which state that al-Haqiqa – a Christian satellite TV channel in Arabic that transmits Christian religious programmes – broadcast an audio file attributed to the Kuwaiti prince, identified as Abdullah al-Sabah. The al-Sabahs are the royal family of Kuwait, a country rich in oil. The name Abdullah (servant of God) frequently appears in the Emir’s family tree.

The People We Miss

A man sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that thousands of people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried up to meet his schedule.
A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and without stopping continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a 3 year old boy. His mother tagged him along, hurried but the kid stopped to look at the violinist.
